Serviço Social SICSW Society For International Cooperation in Social Works

SICSW - Society for international Cooperation in Social Work

The main aim of the Society for International Cooperation in Social Work is to promote the internationalization of social work as a discipline and a profession by means of concrete projects.
We believe that a forum is needed to support an intensive exchange of experiences, opinions, solutions and even problems on the subject of social work. The Society for International Cooperation in Social Work wishes to provide such a forum.
Social work has always been a discipline and profession that crosses national borders, and it can look back at a long and impressive history of international networking. Many of international journals, conferences and organizations strive to promote the exchange needed between social workers and academics conducting research in this area. Hence, we see the SICSW not as competition but as a valuable addition to these activities. We intend to provide instruments that facilitate the networking in international cooperation of interested individuals.
The SICSW currently offers four projects to support exchange on the subject of social work:
IRN - The International Research Network for Social Work: brings together researchers who are interested in international cooperation. On this website, scholars from 40 countries introduce themselves, thus providing an easy way to find cooperation partners for international research projects. Learn more about the network -->

The SICSW Mailing List for International Social Work: A communication tool for the international exchange of research in social work. Learn more -->
The information platform "www.socialwork.de - Socialwork in Germany": provides an opportunity for non-German speaking social workers and scholars to get an overview of different aspects of social work in Germany. Learn more about the project -->

New SICSW Publication 2007 - International Social Work. Social Problems, Cultural Issues and Social Work Education: The idea of this book has been developed in a process of discussions within the SICSW - Society for International Cooperation in Social Work. Learn more -->
